Default A question to whites for race blind admissions to select

colleges,? By not giving disadvantaged students the opportunity to become a part of the regarded higher academic institutions, wouldn't you think that this would only stagnate race relationsand create a similar situation that can easily be displayed by the earlier part of the 20th century with whites having a superior education. Subjecting blacks, hispanics andother minorities to be left to rely on white america makingmajor decisions for their people and communities. Oris that the goal of race blind admissions ? Whites withmediocre and low credentials have always had opportunitiesto attend institutions and accept job opportunities solely onlegacy and socieconomics. Minorities traditionally have neverbeen in the circle to these opportunities and have always hadto have above standard credentials just to be considered. By populations alone, there would be 10 x as many white applicants as others. Racist and sexist mentality alone would exclude qualified minorities.Cacain- You missed the point! Minoritiesthat are accepted to IVY league schoolsusually graduate. Their offspring usuallydo even better. I do donate moneyto the poor, its called taxes. Minoritiespay taxes too.Caciansf- You missed the point! Minoritiesthat are accepted to IVY league schoolsusually graduate. Their offspring usuallydo even better. No one said to give bonus pointson test scores. We are talking aboutaccepting minorities in the institution. They would still have to perform to staythere as always. And perform underconditions you probably wouldn/t haveto endure. Most of these instructors arebasically from the same cast as yourself.Don n That happens all of the time. I know of a white kid who basically didn'thave the grades to get in med school, but his father is a pulmonologist, madea few phone calls and got him in. Youmay have that guy working on one of your family members one day. He's definitely not the best, but he's white.Don n Don't talk to me about racism in sports. that's a whole topic in itself. Why are all the rich owners making the money old white guys, when the sports world (players) are dominated by minorities? Huh?

I don't think it matters whether minorities get into the best colleges, I think the more important number is how many get into any college or University. That's where your true racial development numbers will come from. Most whites tend to have a problem with a scholarship that is only eligible for a minority, but they don't seem to argue when they have a trust fund, their parents had a college fund, their parents actually went to college, they actually had both parents, their parents actually pushed education, and the biggest problem they had to worry about before college was if they were cool or not or whether their parents were going to get them the car they wanted or some other car. When I compare my childhood with those of my white co-workers, none have had to go through the things I did to get where I am at. Some of them went to ivy-league, I went to an HBCU. Let's compare manager ratings, I am pretty close to top dog every year. And supposedly I am the least educated. My point is that I had to so things to avoid selling drugs that they have never had to do. I have been beaten, shot at, and even had to deal with gang violence in my school all the time. The school in my neighborhood had the worst teachers, most of the parents of the kids were either unknown or locked up, and I wasn't allowed to go outside most of the time because of the violence and everything in my neighborhood. Meanwhile my counterparts are still mad at their parents for buying them the brand new 4 door sedan instead of a sports car in high school. Seriously.

I hate to say this but if you are too poor or stupid then you should not go to an IVY league college. Now that I said the truth , I will say this: you are assuming that black and other minorities are too stupid to go to an ivy league school on their own. So if you feel that way by all means donate money so a poor / stupid kid can go to Stanford , then become a Doctor under the affiramitive racism plan and help the university reach it's quota of minorities.

I think that admissions requirements should have nothing whatsoever to do with race. If they lowered the math requirements in a test for me because I was a girl I would be offended. If you someone thinks that you should earn extra points on any test because you aren't white, you should be offended. Unless of course, you think you can't perform as well as whites and you need the extra cheat points? And as far as your applicant percentages go, first off, your stats are wrong, and secondly, counting quotas CREATES racism and resentful feelings from the party being discriminated against. And just so we are clear, it is legally considered discrimination when a group is disadvantaged because of their race. If you give "not-a-white" points, than you are discriminating against white people. Stop being a racist and expect everyone to prove their own merit independently from their ethnic or cultural backgrounds.

Should sports teams be selected based on race and sex also. By not giving the less capable players the opportunity to play on the professional teams you are denying them the opportunity to make millions. (Oops that might favor some of those awful racists and sexists)Pre school, public school, junior colleges, and colleges are available for anyone who wishes to go. Graduate schools become more difficult and the best schools should only take the ones who score the highest scores. Why should a student who worked his @ss off to get to the top be punished because he is not a minority? I don't care if the student is green. If he is the most qualified he should get the slot. When we are talking about doctors I know I for one want the best doctors working on me. I don't want some doctor that was put in just to fill a minority slot. Maybe he had an uncle who was a politician.

People complain about Affirmative Action but wealthy kids often get into great schools based not on their grades but what their daddy has contributed to the school. Trust Fund Affirmative action should offend people just as much.
