Default Can someone help me with my college...

...admissions? Okay, right now, I'm doing really bad in school. But I still wanna go to a good college. Right now, I am thinking I will get a general degree at a 2 year college and then tranfer to a better college from their. Can someone explain to me what would happen. How would I transfer. I know you can but how do I do it?And also. If I take math etc... at this first college, would my credits "rollover"?Would two years fill my quota for math and other general subjects?

OK. you want to attend a JUNIOR COLLEGE...you would not TRANSFER to a junior college to a REGULAR college. you would GRADUATE from that college after those 2 years. would those credits transfer? no. but they would make your application stand out...even STANFORD accepts junior college kids. JUnior college prepares students.i'd think you would not have a degree from the college, but you would have your diploma. and a diploma will take you fargood luck! if u need help financing a college, an HBCU is always willing to take you on, and help you finance your education.

Its depends on the college you go to. You have to be at a junior college that will have the courses needed to help you transfer. First apply to the junior college and then talk to a career counselor. Each student has a designated counselor assigned to them, usually based on the last name (ie: if the first letter of your last name was between A-G). Theyll help you plan out your coursework, based on your major. If you havent picked one, theyll advise you to take general ed classes first. The college usually follows some kind of checklist to make sure you take the required courses needed to get a degree or transfer. Make sure to get a college catalog, in addition to the course catalog. The college catalog tells you info about the school and what you need to graduate or get a degree. The course catalog tells you the courses that are available for that particular semester.Take a look at the catalog, then talk to the counselor after applying. Remember the dates, because they are important. If you apply late, you may not be able to start until the next semester.Junior college only has the lower division courses. In the catalog, it will tell you if the course is transferable. All credits count, but its the course thats important. You need to make sure that course is the required one you need for the upper division courses at the universities. Lower division courses are available at junior colleges, whereas upper division courses can only be taken at the Universities. Also, you dont have to get a degree at the junior college. You get just get the required coursework needed for you to transfer.

A lot of it depends on the college at which you would seek a bachelor's (four-year) degree. Policies vary. Some schools are very flexible about accepting junior college/community college credits, others aren't. Also, many have rules as to which categories of classes will be accepted for transfer credit. You might want to check out the policies at colleges you might like to attend after getting you associate's (two-year) degree. That may help you determine what courses are worth taking at the two-year school. It is also worth noting that there are some colleges that actually focus on providing bachelor's degree opportunities to graduates of two-year schools. In my hometown, the University of Baltimore does that. I'm sure that there must be several schools with similar policies in your area.
