Default Do AP tests affect college...

...admissions? I want to go to UCLA or another UC, and i want to know if AP test scores affect your acceptance. I know that most people pass, and I haven't failed one yet, but it would be reassuring to know. Thanks.

I'm taking my AP exams right now, i have US history tomorrow,Yes it does, because it shows you can handel college level work, which demonstrates your maturity. Thereby increasing your chances in obtaining admission because it makes your application stand out from the hundreds of other applications that dont have AP exams credentials.

yeah, its one of the things that helps...its not one of the top things they check though...it ranks below GPA, SAT/ACT, and Class rank, but above extracurricular activities

A great grade in a non-AP course will stand out MORE than an average, undistinguished grade in an AP course. APs, in and of themselves, are not impressive enough to boost your admissions chances. UC or UCLA- 3.5 and above GPA very competitive

This question comes up over and over at college fairs I attend and the standard answer the UC admission representatives give out is "you don't have to take the AP exams and it won't affect your chance of admission."Altho AP test scores do not affect your chance of admission to the UC schools, I think failing them don't look so great on the application. So if you are uncertain about passing any AP tests, it's better to not take them.

I work with both Berkeley and UC
