Default staying abroad in Germany

I’m writing to share my recent experience , staying abroad in Germany. After learning German in school for almost 3 years I took a German course Berlin this summer during June and July. This city is huge! I loved it there. Berlin has amazing buildings, the greatest variety of different cultures and interesting people. Every day I explored something new, there is so much going on there. I decided to go to the capital of Germany because I felt that just by learning this language in school I wouldn’t be really able to communicate effectively. Besides that I didn’t have any plans for the summer but definitely wanted to spend the time in a foreign country.

Some of my friends were planning a trip to Tenerife which surely would have been fun too. A couple of weeks with good friends on this beautiful island at the beach… But in the end, I’m glad I chose Berlin. Like this I was able to have fun during the summer but at the same time I could improve my German skills immensely.

Another thing I liked a lot about Berlin is the variety of possible things to do in your leisure time. There is almost nothing you can’t do. The nightlife is great, numerous concerts and festivals are always happening and there are a lot of things in Berlin or close by that are well worth seeing. I explored a new passion for me in Germany too! I started to play Poker! This is very common in Germany – especially with young people who like to spend a night gambling. I’m so into this game now, back home I love to play on the internet!

All in all, this stay abroad has been an amazing experience. I can definitely recommend this to everybody! The language improvement is just one aspect. You also learn plenty about yourself, gain cultural understanding and appreciation and important skills like maturity, team work and independence.
