Default What would you pay a 17 year old (who is starting college in fall) to babysit your kid for 4 hours a...

...day? It would be for 5 days a week. I don't want to pay her for the week in case my husband has the day off. So I would instead base her pay daily or hourly. The hours are 2:00 to 6:00 pm. She would drive aproximately 10 miles to get to my house. This is for 2 mild girls 1 and 3 years old.I normally pay my sitters around 6 an hour but they don't drive their own car. I am only making 12 an hour. Around here sitters don't get paid more than 10 unless a Nanny.

When I babysat for a friend, I charged $20 a day and she offered a daily "bonus" to cover my gas expenses. It worked out to about $5.00 an hour most days (plus gas money)I also worked at a day care where I was paid minimum wage($7.50 at the time) to help supervise 12 kids! Which means I was only making $0.65 per child, per hour!! In my opinion, $5.00 per hour is definitely enough for a parent to pay me for babysitting services.
